Dempster Presentation

It was Meridian Trust’s privilege to handle the estate of Mrs. Nadine Dempster, whose generosity will benefit east Tennessee for decades to come. On August 12,  the memory of Mrs. Nadine Dempster was honored as eight non-profits were recognized as the charitable beneficiaries of her estate.  The following charities each received $770,000:  Bachman Academy, East Tennessee Children’s Hospital, Emerald Avenue United Methodist Church, Holston Home for Children, Humane Society of the Tennessee Valley, InterFaith Health Clinic, Knoxville Zoological Gardens, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Described as a humble and caring, Mrs. Dempster died in 2012 at the age of 93.  Many of the charitable beneficiaries have called their monetary gift a “game changer” and plan to honor the legacy of Mrs. Dempster by putting the money to good use.
