Jennifer Steffens, CFP®
A Certified Financial Planner® practitioner, Jennifer works closely with Meridian’s clients to help them take the right steps towards achieving their financial goals. As part of this process, she collaborates with her clients’ tax professionals, estate planning attorneys, and other trusted advisers. By partnering with a CFP® professional to coordinate these important aspects of their finances, clients can focus on their passions and interests with the peace of mind that they are making the best financial decisions for themselves and their families.
Jennifer grew up outside of Blacksburg, Virginia. She graduated magna cum laude from The University of Memphis with a Bachelor of Fine Arts before receiving her MBA from Virginia Tech with a concentration in Finance. She earned the Certified Financial Planner® designation in 2002.
Jennifer began her career at Merrill Lynch in Roanoke, Virginia. Given her passion for the planning aspect of financial advisory, she decided to pursue a career in financial planning. After working as a financial planner with Sullivan Bruyette Speros & Blaney located in northern Virginia, in 2007 she moved to Knoxville with First Tennessee Bank, where she worked for ten years before joining Meridian Trust. With over eighteen years of experience, Jennifer’s approach recognizes that effective financial planning is about more than advice– it is also about helping people understand and change their relationships with money.
Jennifer is happily married to Nick, and together they enjoy raising their boys, Jack and Drew. She serves on the Investment Committee for the Alpha Delta Pi Foundation and previously served as member of Grand Council for Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Jennifer enjoys volunteering where her boys attend school, and her favorite pastimes include spending time with family and friends and gardening.
