Laura K. Lyons

My Meridian:
Each of my clients wants to do the right things, and make the very best decisions, with regard to their financial lives. Yet in spite of the fact that we are all accountable to ourselves and our families to make smart financial choices, it can be difficult – sometimes overwhelming – to determine what those things are. I am committed to help my clients make informed decisions that enable them to address their financial goals as effectively as possible, to create financial roadmaps that help them feel secure about where they are and where they will be in the future.

Laura K. Lyons, CFP
Financial Planner

A Certified Financial Planner practitioner, Laura works closely with Meridian’s clients to help them take the right steps to achieve their financial goals. As a part of this process, she collaborates with her clients’ tax professionals, estate planning attorneys, and other trusted advisers. By partnering with a CFP® to coordinate these important aspects of their financial lives, our clients can focus on their passions and interests with the peace of mind that they are making the best financial decisions for themselves and their families.

Laura grew up in Knoxville and earned her Bachelor of Arts at Rhodes College in Memphis, where she studied psychology with an emphasis on human intuition and judgment and the psychology of perception. This focus, combined with enthusiasm for her economics courses, was the beginning of her love of behavioral finance. After Laura graduated Phi Beta Kappa, cum laude, she returned to Knoxville to begin her career in Financial Planning. With over 20 years of experience, Laura’s approach recognizes that effective financial planning is about more than advice – it is also about helping people understand and change their relationships with money.

Laura is a member of the Financial Planning Association, and the past 10 years, has been featured in a personal finance segment on the WBIR 10 News at 5 news broadcast. She has lived in downtown Knoxville, which she loves for its urban energy and feeling of community, since 2003.
